  • Our Journey With Cancer: A Story About Faith, Hope & Love

    Kevin Lee

    language (, Feb. 7, 2018)
This book brings the reader on our journey with nasopharyngeal cancer, a rare type of head and neck cancer. It is a collection of my reflections especially during my medical treatment stage in 2017, and ends with the post-treatment ‘clearance’ stage which will take the next 4-5 years (2018-2022/23) that are the crucial monitoring time period like most forms of cancer. The intention of the book is to highlight awareness to the readers concerning the challenges that both patient and (especially) primary caregiver experience before/during and after. It is hoped that the contents shared here will provide the reader (especially if you are a patient and primary caregiver) with the courage and strength to overcome the challenges that lie ahead.
  • Interpreting the Civil War at Museums and Historic Sites

    Kevin M. Levin

Hardcover (Rowman & Littlefield Publishers, Sept. 22, 2017)
Public historians working at museums and historic sites focused on the Civil War era are tasked with interpreting a period of history that remains deeply controversial. Many visitors have strong connections to historic sites such as battlefields and artifacts as well as harbor strong convictions about the cause of the war, its consequences and the importance of slavery. Interpreting the Civil War at Museums and Historic Sites surveys how museums and historic sites approached these challenges and others during the Civil War sesquicentennial (2011-2015). In doing so, this book offers museums and history professionals strategies to help shape conversations with local communities, develop exhibits and train interpreters. With the ongoing controversy surrounding the display of the Confederate battle flag and monuments, there has never been a more opportune moment to look critically at how the Civil War has been interpreted and why it continues to matter to so many Americans. Each chapter is written by a professional public historian currently working at a museum or historic site. They cover topics such as:Building relations with the public How specific museums interpreted the war and overcame challenges of location, audience, fundingHow the National Park Service and Georgia Historical Society approached commemorating important anniversaries
  • 101 MOST AMAZING THINGS TO SAY TO YOUR CHILD : TO INSPIRE SELF-ESTEEM

    Kevin M.

eBook (Kevin Myles, Nov. 11, 2013)
Whether you're a parent, grandparent, teacher or child, this book is about leaving the most amazing impression on a child, through wonderful expressions that can be shared everyday.Since we all know that establishing their belief-system begins at an early age, my desire is for these expressions to help formulate and build their self-esteem- basedon the power of what we choose to say.Consider it a form of chicken soup for a child's "heart-drive" or a daily expresso for a child's spirit, to help get them through their day, or a season of self-doubt because just as we (adults) still need love and inspiration, it's just as important for kids to receive it as well, who we know are so impressionable.Anyway you slice it, I consider the words we express to any child should be carefully thought out, as it impacts their thinking and believing for a long time to come. The words in this book were sacredly crafted out of compassion and specifically composed to uplift your child, and every child's life we may encounter (from day-to- day) based on love and divine truths. Ultimately however, what I also know is that, If you choose to take one message out this book and share it, I believe that it will not only be felt in the heart of your child, but by you as well. It's the amazing power of love.
  • Eighteen Steps Toward White: A Spiritual Journey

    Kevin Lee

    language (, May 1, 2018)
This book takes the reader back in time to the very start of the author’s birth, as far as he can remember; and it focuses on his spiritual development since then, at least until the present day. Many challenges unfolded before the author as he grew up, and faced with the uncertainty of life he began exploring various approaches to life as far as religion is concerned, mainly Christianity and Buddhism. Being born into a Taoist family, he followed the family in practising ancestral worship; but surrounded with questions consistently, he started searching for the meaning of life through various means and finally settled for what he feels is the right path for him to follow henceforth. Embark on a spiritual quest with the author as he brings you along with him on a journey spanning over 40-plus years of spiritual exploration (which is still work in progress by the way), and hopefully have your own questions (if any) concerning your own faith answered along the way.
