  • This Little Piggy Named Pony

    Kathleen Farnsley

    Paperback (AuthorHouse, Oct. 24, 2008)
Children can come up with the funniest names for pets. When my granddaughter was 4 years old, a kitten wandered into the backyard of my home, and of course was immediately cuddled, fed, and pronounced ?my kitten that lives at Granny?s?. I gave her the honor of naming the cute little guy, (as it was her kitten regardless of the address!), and she proclaimed his name would be ?Pooch?. I didn?t have the heart to tell her that was a nickname for a dog.And he was a blue ribbon cat regardless of his odd name.I hope that this little short storybook reminds kids and adults alike that no matter what a name might be, the face behind it and the heart inside it deserves our love and care towards earning that blue ribbon.
