Instantly, Wendell and his abundance of otter friends are everywhere, and there's nothing Jake can do about it. Katherine Dana, an independent illustrator, graduated with a B.A. in film animation and studio art from Grand Valley State University. The mischievous and spirited otters at her local zoo in Grand Rapids, Michigan are the inspiration for this book.

Katherine Dana is an independent illustrator who lives in Grand Rapids, Michigan. She spends her time reading books, drawing, and watching old movies. Her first book, Never Invite an Otter to Stay the Night was published in 2011.
