    Kate Cann

language (Kate Cann, Aug. 26, 2013)
Coll loves to swim - diving into the clear blue water makes her feel free. Much freer than it's possible to at home, with her larger-than-life mother and her mother's needy friends cluttering up the kitchen table. There's also the boy Coll keeps seeing at the pool - he's gorgeous, and he swims like a shark. He's the subject of her creative daydreams. Then one afternoon - he asks her out. Close up, he's even more good looking. But he's also confident, privileged, and very pushy ...As Coll struggles to get what she wants from their relationship, she begins to wonder just how far she should go. Can she cope with a boyfriend who's much more experienced than she is? How much should she rein in what she's increasingly feeling? Will she turn out like her man-hating mum - or like Art's sad last girlfriend, who suddenly got dumped? Just how fast should Coll be diving into love?A passionate tale of a first sexual relationship, Diving In shows just how vital it is for girls to hold out for what they want - to make themselves heard. Coll is an intelligent, feisty, funny heroine - but is she a match for Art? This is the first in the Coll & Art series - In the Deep End and Sink or Swim follow.

  • In the Deep End

    Kate Cann

eBook (Kate Cann, Aug. 30, 2013)
Coll has just about forgiven Art for assuming that she'll sleep with him when they're away at his dad's weekend cottage. Art's promised her that they can take things slowly, that the time has to be right for her. But just when is 'the right time'? And how will their relationship change afterwards? There's only one way to find out. And when Coll plunges into the first truly passionate relationship of her life, she's overwhelmed by the power of her feelings. In the midst of her growing obsession with Art, she must try and keep her life afloat. She's scared, exhilarated - well and truly in the deep end! This extraordinarily intimate book beautifully charts Coll's growing passion for Art. In an age sadly dominated by crude pornography, it shows the real power of female sexuality.

  • Art's Story

    Kate Cann

    language (, Dec. 29, 2012)
Art's Story is the fourth and final book in the Coll and Art series - after Diving In, In the Deep End and Sink or Swim. It describes what happens when Coll comes back from Canada - whether the lovers get back together or not. I was very keen to write it in Art the boyfriend's voice; I think it's fascinating the way the same relationship can be such a different event for the boy. I loved creating Art's voice (so different to Coll's) and describing Coll through his eyes. Some of his harsh behaviour in the first three books is explained. But when I sent the first 7000 words to my publishers they hated it: they said Art was too dark, too much of a threat to Coll. They wouldn't give me a contract to finish it. Later I posted those 7000 words on my website and I got lots of lovely emails telling me to finish it. So I did.

  • Madeleine: Our daughter's disappearance and the continuing search for her

    Kate McCann

eBook (Transworld Digital, May 12, 2011)
Kate McCann's personal account of the disappearance and continuing search for her daughter, revised and updated.'The decision to publish this book has been very difficult, and taken with heavy hearts ... My reason for writing it is simple: to give an account of the truth ... Writing this memoir has entailed recording some very personal, intimate and emotional aspects of our lives. Sharing these with strangers does not come easily to me, but if I hadn't done so I would not have felt the book gave as full a picture as it is possible for me to give. As with every action we have taken over the last five years, it ultimately boils down to whether what we are doing could help us to find Madeleine. When the answer to that question is yes, or even possibly, our family can cope with anything ... Nothing is more important to us than finding our little girl.' -- Kate McCann'A must-read' Sunday Express'Kate's book blazes with the sheer visceral force of her love for her daughter' Daily Mail'Deeply moving' Guardian
