  • Bound for the Promised Land

    Oren Martin

eBook (IVP Academic, March 23, 2015)
Just as the Old Testament book of Genesis begins with creation, where humans live in the presence of their Lord, so the New Testament book of Revelation ends with an even more glorious new creation where all of the redeemed dwell with the Lord and his Christ. The historical development between the beginning and the end is crucial, for the journey from Eden to the new Jerusalem proceeds through the land promised to Abraham. The Promised Land is the place where God's people will once again live under his lordship and experience his blessed presence. In this stimulating study from the New Studies in Biblical Theology series, Oren Martin demonstrates how, within the redemptive-historical framework of God's unfolding plan, the land promise advances the place of the kingdom that was lost in Eden. This promise also serves as a type throughout Israel's history that anticipates the even greater land, prepared for all of God's people, that will result from the person and work of Christ and that will be enjoyed in the new creation for eternity.Addressing key issues in biblical theology, the works comprising New Studies in Biblical Theology are creative attempts to help Christians better understand their Bibles. The NSBT series is edited by D. A. Carson, aiming to simultaneously instruct and to edify, to interact with current scholarship and to point the way ahead.

"I was a monster. And in that moment, leaning against Rhys's warm body, feeling his unnaturally cool breath against my face . . . I knew I would give in."Vampires aren't supposed to be real, and Kassandra is not supposed to be one of them. But on the morning of her eighteenth birthday she wakes with fangs, a hunger for blood, and a body with abilities she can't control. Turned by the irritating, yet handsome, Rhys O'Shea, Kassandra struggles to balance her former human life with her new life as one of the undead. With the world at war, the vampires have stepped in--but if the existence of the supernatural is exposed, then an entirely new battle will erupt. A battle for survival that will forever alter the future. But the past may be just as dangerous. Kassandra can't stop the dreams of a young Irish girl in the medieval countryside, a girl who smiles when Rhys comes near, nor can she shake a looming sense of doom. The last time she felt this dark chill her mother died, and now Kassandra could be next. The YA Paranormal, Eternal Shadows, has been revamped! Now with a preview of the upcoming sequel: Darkest Whispers.
  • Darkest Whispers

    Kate Martin

    language (, June 21, 2014)
Hearts are fragile. For five hundred years Kassandra lived--and died. Now she’s immortal, a vampire, and reunited with her soulmate, Rhys. They have all eternity to make up for lost time. Or they should. In the midst of a war against an insurgent organization, Rhys is accused of murder, and no one can prove his innocence. With Rhys imprisoned, awaiting dismemberment, Kassandra has only one option--train with Cade to learn how to fight this war, and develop skills that make her feel more like a monster than ever before. At night, Kassandra tracks down zombie-like failed vampires released to terrorize the humans. By day, she delves into the past, searching for answers to help free Rhys. But as she explores her past lives, Kassandra discovers evidence that she herself may be a traitor in the making. Anyone could be an enemy, old friends, or new. A single choice could define her in this new life: team player, or rogue element? Who can she trust when everyone is keeping secrets? One thing is clear: no one can survive without a heart, not even an immortal.
  • I Hate To Wait

    Kady Martin

eBook (Cam Co, Feb. 25, 2017)
Children's participatory storybook recommended for ages pre-school to second grade. Good source for interactive story telling.Finalist for the 27th Annual Writer’s Digest Book Awards"Judge’s Commentary:Artwork is excellent and matches the story flow extremely well. The action steps at the end are a very nice addition and will definitely be fun to get the wiggles out.Your readers will also connect the appeal of not waiting and be curious to see the outcome. It might have been a little more personal though if the story had been told in his voice rather than a narrator’s.The plot line and resolution is a realistic outcome to not being willing to wait, but the humor of his adventure and determination is well done. Overall it is a fun story that all ages can identify with."
