  • Life, the Universe, God, and all that Stuff: 'an inside-out view'

    Johnny R. O'Neill

    eBook
Life Is a Song, to be Played Again...and Again... What is the ‘stuff’ of which our universe is made? Quarks or atoms? God or consciousness? An as yet undiscovered something? Is it ‘made’ of any ‘thing’ at all? In this remarkable book, author Johnny R. O’Neill describes a universe made, yes, of ‘stuff,’ but also, and just as importantly, made of the ever-changing relationship between that stuff and those who experience it. 'Relationship'? Think of it as ‘feeling.’ We exist as the feeling of life, and living. Using a well-reasoned and insightful mix of science and philosophy, spirituality and religion, the author maps previously uncharted territory on our understanding of ourselves. Within are pathways of thought leading to fresh ideas on consciousness, awareness, free will; to new intersections with old ideas, the Golden Rule, personal responsibility; as well as expansive, clear-eyed vistas on faith, morality, truth, and indeed, eternity. It’s a new metaphor the author offers, new ways of thinking about ourselves, about our world, about our own existence in and as this ‘kinetic whirl’ that is our boundaryless universe. It truly is a new way of seeing, and from the inside-out, ‘Life, the Universe, God, and all that Stuff’…

    John O'Neill

Paperback (Trafford on Demand Pub, Nov. 1, 2002)
A story of a hobo mouse that lived more than one hundred years ago and his journey on a famous Christmas Eve. A detour in his destination put him in a home where he wasn't supposed to be and where he went unnoticed by its occupants. The magic of this special Christmas Eve would be one he would never forget and a surprise for all who learn of his story. Children's book reviewer Jennifer LB Leese highly recommends A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS EVE FOR JO-JO THE HOBO MOUSE giving it 4 stars out of 5. "Told in rhyme," she writes, "A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS EVE FOR JO-JO THE HOBO MOUSE is a delightful Christmas story about a little traveling mouse named Jo-Jo. "A MAGICAL CHRISTMAS EVE FOR JO-JO THE HOBO MOUSE isn't a story full of hair-raising horror, or life-threatening danger, but it is a story full of Christmas cheer, and magical moments. This book is sure to be a new holiday favorite for many little folks and their families. Jo-Jo is a famous mouse who goes down in history as one of the creatures who wasn't stirring in Clement Clarke Moore's "'Twas the Night Before Christmas." "This reviewer believes that John O'Neill has written a festive book for children that flows well, stirs the imagination, and is easy-to-read. It has adorable hand drawn illustrations that will make the reader smile. The cheery drawings work well with the whimsical text. "

  • The Wonder City of Oz

    John R. Neill

Hardcover (Books of Wonder, Nov. 1, 1990)
The Wonder City of Oz (1940) is the thirty-fourth in the series of Oz books created by L. Frank Baum and his successors, and the first written and illustrated solely by John R. Neill. With The Wonder City of Oz, Neill introduced a change in tone that continued through his subsequent books. Neill's Emerald City has skyscrapers and gas stations. Normally inanimate objects act alive: houses talk and fight, shoes sing (they have tongues), and clocks run. Jenny Jump captures a leprechaun named Siko Pompus (apparently a pun on "psychopomp") and forces him to make her into a fairy; but he only does half the job before escaping. Jenny then jumps to Oz using her half-fairy gifts. She lands in the carriage of Princess Ozma during a parade - and quickly expresses her desire to be a queen herself. Her ambition lures her into running against Ozma in an Ozlection to become ruler of the Land of Oz.
