  • Little Lulu's Pal Tubby Volume 1: The Castaway and Other Stories

    John Stanley

Paperback (Dark Horse, Aug. 31, 2010)
From the pages of Little Lulu comes Tubby! The comedic genius of John Stanley couldn't be contained by one series alone, so in 1952 Lulu's pal Tubby made his solo debut in his own hysterical comic. Filled with all the charm and hilarity of Little Lulu, Tubby is a familiar but different delight from comics legend John Stanley. Dark Horse is proud to present these never-before-reprinted gems from comics' golden age in a new series of paperback collections. Like Dark Horse's new Little Lulu series, Tubby is printed in full color, just as the comics appeared over fifty years ago.

  • Tales from an American Childhood: Recollection and Revelation

    John Thomas

    language (, June 11, 2018)
Humanity has come a long way from being huddled in a cave. But now what? After all the work of generation after generation, we now seem poised to throw it all away. I really hope we don't. Our society seems to be in a giant hurry when what we really need is to slow down and carefully consider how to proceed while being respectful of other cultures and peoples. Rather than rushing to decisions with people of different backgrounds and contexts, we need first to reach common ground. The way to that is to open up about our own hopes and fears for humankind. In these inter-connected essays, I describe experiences that led to my own values and beliefs. I offer suggestions for how we might proceed together. These essays address such contemporary topics as terrorism, politics, civility, racism, misogyny, economic systems, health care and child rearing.

  • The Millionaire Next Door 1st

    Ph.D. Stanley Thomas J.

    Hardcover
By A Customer Format:hard back Every now and then very, very special book comes along with a "aha" and this is such a book. Many people are spending their way through high incomes---keeping up with the "JONE'S" high profile lifestyle's encumbered with high debt and zero savings. I worked for a millionaire one time who said"Money buys clothes, clothes don't buy anything!" He advised us to buy our "toys" clothes, cars, vacations etc. off profits of profits and never spend principal! This mans nt worth was well in excess of $350,000,000. I would also recommend three other books; "RICHEST MAN IN BABLYON" by George Clawson, "WEALTH WITHOUT RISK" and "FINANCIAL SELF-DEFENSE" by Charles Givens. Remember, it's not what you make, it's what's left over that counts. If you spend all of your money on your lifestyle, guess what? You'll always have to! Good reading, excellent book.
