This hardback collection presents four of the most well-known and well-loved fairytales by the Brothers Grimm, retold and illustrated by world-renowned British author/illustrator, John Patience, in a detailed, traditional style: Puss in Boots; Little Red Riding Hood; Sleeping Beauty; and Goldilocks and the Three Bears.These interpretations were first published as individual titles in the 1980s and 1990s and remain popular with original and new readers. Many of John's fairytale illustrations are shared enthusiastically on social media.

Due to a mix-up with parcel labels, Sigmund Swamp accidentally receives a real live crocodile for his birthday. The creature escapes and causes pandemonium around the village.The birds were singing and the early morning sunshine was glinting through the trees as Mr Periwinkle the mailman came driving along the lane in his mail van.
