  • Bertie's Adventure At the Beach

    John Hutchinson

eBook (Hummingbird Publishing, Sept. 1, 2016)
Avoid mouse traps, keep clear of cats, and never go to the seashore without your mother and father. Along with the dangerous currents of the mighty sea, there are foxes, wild cats and hawks searching for a tasty meal of small mice. These were strong warnings, but the lure of the seashore was overwhelming, and Bertie disobeyed his parents. From his cozy bungalow on a farm near the beaches of cape cod, the young mouse secretly set out by himself to explore the seashore. His first encounter was a wise and friendly old seagull named Sebastian, who agreed to take Bertie on a tour. Here begins the little mouse’s adventure told 70 years ago to the author, John Hutchinson, by his mother, Harriet Jaqueth Fitz Hutchinson, to whom this book is dedicated. This 90 page hard cover book with a trim size of 7 by 10 inches, was professionally produced for children ages 8 to 12 years old.

  • Flowers for Sarajevo

    John McCutcheon

Audio CD (Peachtree Publishing Company, April 1, 2017)
Young Drasko is happy working with his father in the Sarajevo market. Then war encroaches. Drasko must run the family flower stand alone. One morning, the bakery is bombed and twenty-two people are killed. The next day, a cellist walks to the bombsite and plays the most heartbreaking music Drasko can imagine. The cellist returns for twenty-two days, one day for each victim of the bombing. Inspired by the musician’s response, Drasko finds a way to help make Sarajevo beautiful again.Based on real events of the Bosnian War, award-winning songwriter and storyteller John McCutcheon tells the uplifting story of the power of beauty in the face of violence and suffering. The story comes to life with the included CD in which cellist Vedran Smailović accompanies McCutcheon and performs the melody that he played in 1992 to honor those who died in the Sarajevo mortar blast.

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, April 17, 2015)
Leopold Classic Library is delighted to publish this classic book as part of our extensive collection. As part of our on-going commitment to delivering value to the reader, we have also provided you with a link to a website, where you may download a digital version of this work for free. Many of the books in our collection have been out of print for decades, and therefore have not been accessible to the general public. Whilst the books in this collection have not been hand curated, an aim of our publishing program is to facilitate rapid access to this vast reservoir of literature. As a result of this book being first published many decades ago, it may have occasional imperfections. These imperfections may include poor picture quality, blurred or missing text. While some of these imperfections may have appeared in the original work, others may have resulted from the scanning process that has been applied. However, our view is that this is a significant literary work, which deserves to be brought back into print after many decades. While some publishers have applied optical character recognition (OCR), this approach has its own drawbacks, which include formatting errors, misspelt words, or the presence of inappropriate characters. Our philosophy has been guided by a desire to provide the reader with an experience that is as close as possible to ownership of the original work. We hope that you will enjoy this wonderful classic book, and that the occasional imperfection that it might contain will not detract from the experience.
  • Caught in a Trap

    John C. Hutcheson

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Aug. 7, 2015)
“Hullo! Markworth. How lucky! Why you are just the man I want; you’re ubiquitous, who’d have thought of seeing you in town?” said Tom Hartshorne, of the —th Dragoons, cheerily, as he sauntered late one summer afternoon into a private billiard-room in Oxford-street, where a tall, dark-complexioned, and strikingly-handsome man, was knocking the balls about in his shirt-sleeves, and trying all sorts of fancy shots against the cushions—The sole occupant of the room was he, with the exception of the marker, who was looking on in a desultory sort of way at the strokes of the player from his thronelike chair underneath the scoring board.
  • Teddy

    John C. Hutcheson

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Aug. 7, 2015)
“I want do d’an’ma!” This sudden and unexpected exclamation, uttered as it was in a shrill little voice like that of a piping bullfinch, and coming from nowhere in particular, as far as he could make out, for he had fancied himself all alone on the platform, made the tall railway porter almost jump out of his skin, as he expressed it, startling him out of his seven senses.
