Morris Southall is a normal 11-year-old. He likes reading, music, computer games and hanging with his friends. The only different thing about him is that his legs don't work, so he uses a wheelchair. That and his special Helping Friend Dog, Rollo, who goes wherever Morris does.Morris's adventures begin when Rollo eats a story Morris wrote for homework, getting him into trouble at school. Morris has more problems when, because of his wheelchair, he is left behind on a school trip to a world-famous library. It is then he meets Brother Aloysius, a weird librarian with two broken legs, who tells him of a secret, magical library underneath the real one. The library contains all the stories that have even been written by people like you and me, but never published. There are strange creatures, stories that come to life, and lost librarians wandering its depths. The library is in danger of burning down and only Morris can save it. Morris and Rollo set out on a perilous journey into its dark passages. In the depths of the secret library, stories come alive. The library is home to wonderful things as well as terrifying monsters. Can Morris find his own story? Can he stop the library from burning down? Can he escape the labyrinth alive? After all, he is just a boy in a wheelchair!
