  • Who Wants to be an Adult?: Growing Up is Hard To Do

    John X Clare

    (, May 16, 2020)
You leave school. Thank God for that! Then you get a job. Wait a minute. Are these guys serious? When you get to work you never know whether to weep or burst into hysterical laughter. I still haven't got the hang of it.Growing up just doesn't seem to make much sense.I thought delivering the beer at Christmas would be straightforward job, but how did one van end up in the middle of a field, and another at the bottom of the river?I don't know about you, but I live in a world where nothing seems to work properly. And as for that job in Broxbourne... I have never done so much damage in a morning, and I swear it wasn't my fault. You'd think taking a van for a test drive was simple enough, or mending a puncture, but... Maybe it's just me, and I really ought to have been the catcher in the rye instead of trying to be a full card carying adult...Well, read on, and see what you think.

  • The Shepherd of Banbury's Rules to Judge of the Changes of the Weather

    John Claridge

Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
