After 2 unsuccessful attempts to solve a problem on planet Drogan the 'Visitants' decided that they would have to call in Helen James, their 'Good' from Earth. Her first task was to find out why the planet's beings were dieing and once this was discovered she had to stop it. The nearby planet of Flym was stealing their Oxigen Helen found out how and why and then set about putting it right before both planets were destroyed.

The 'Visitants' have a problem when Jawake, one of their 'Goods’, has gone missing.One of the ‘Visitants’ - Weting had been sent to find him so that he can be taken across to the other side of the universe to save millions of beings but he could not be found.Zacred, the ‘Visitants’ leader, sends Hyming to fetch Helen James to see if she can discover what had happened to Jawake.Helen is taken to Jawake’s planet and starts her search where Jawake was last seen, the Market Place. Helen is given a sword to help protect her. At first she says ‘No’ but it was obvious that all the beings on this planet carry weapons of various kinds so Helen reluctantly accepted the sword.Little did Helen realise but The Ruby Sword has magical properties and these were to help her in her quest to find Jawake.

It was a hot day at school and Helen had made sure that she drank sufficient water only she went over the top so during the lesson after lunch she asked to go to the toilet. On her way to the girls’ toilets she is engulfed by Hyming and spirited out of the school and across the universe to the Uklet Galaxy.She was not to know but 2 other ‘Goods’ had all ready visited the planet Drogan but could not find the reason for the beings dying, that is when Helen was called in

This is the 6th time that the Visitants have called on their ‘Good’ from Earth.As Helen cycles home from school with 3 of her friends they all g their separate ways once they arrive at the first roundabout, Helen takes the last exit but she never makes it as a van driver is on his mobile phone and doesn’t notice Helen and her High Visibility jacket. As she flew through the air she calls out ‘Hyming’, but is was not Hyming who saved her but his younger sister Pyling.The bank for the Imkoo Galaxy was collapsing and without it many beings across the galaxy will die.Helen knows about how to look after her pocket money and how to earn extra by doing odd jobs for her mother or their neighbours but the banking systems are beyond her knowledge. Zacred insists that as she is a ‘Good’ it is her duty to save these beings.

Helen James is now 11 years old and studying hard so that she can attend the Church-in-the-Woods Academy at the start of the next academic year.The ‘Visitant’ Hyming comes and collects Helen to take her back to the ‘Visitants’ home cloud.The ‘Visitants have discovered an object streaking across the universe which appears to be some form of space vehicle but it is frozen and so are the occupants. It is Helen’s task to discover what the problem is with this vehicle and how she can help the crew get back to their place of origin.What surprises Helen is that this space vehicle comes from the Milky Way Galaxy.

Helen James is now 11 years old and no longer believes in Father Christmas but she helps keep the allusion alive for her nephew Kenneth. As she takes Kenneth in to visit Father Christmas at the shoping centre Grotto she is surrounded by a blue haze, which is the 'Visitants' Hyming. For Helen is a 'Good' and whenever there is a problem across the Universe, the 'Visitants' can call on Helen to sort it out. This time Father Christmas was in trouble and without Helen's intervention Children throughout the universe would not get their Christmas Presents this year. Can Helen solve this problem and be back at the Grotto before Kenneth meets up with Father Christmas?

Helen James & Saving Father Christmas the latest book in the Helen James series of children’s science fiction adventure stories (7 – 15 year old).Helen is taken to Lapand, the planet where Father Christmas actually lives. He is in trouble and without Helen’s help he would not be visiting Earth this Christmas or any other of the planets across the universe, for their children’s special days.Helen was at a stage of her young life where she no longer believed in Father Christmas but she was soon to discover that not only did he exist but so did the many others in the folklores surrounding his existence.Helen meets the Yule Lads who visit all the children in the 12 days before Christmas to see if they are being good. Helen met the Faerie and their leader Little Rose. The Faerie’s make the ‘fairy dust’ which is reportedly scattered on the roofs of the homes of good children so that Father Christmas knows where to leave presents.Helen also meets up with the Tomte, the elves and finally Rudolf and the reindeers. Others within the various folklores surrounding Father Christmas also pop up within Helen’s adventure.
