  • Annabelle's Fairy Tea Party: Via the Path of Desserts

    Kae Schreiber

    language (, Dec. 29, 2019)
Annabelle is a sensitive, happy little girl with a spirit of adventure. She is curious and enjoys her daily walks with her Fairy Godmother. She is forever asking questions about whatever captures her attention. Wise Fairy Godmother Abrianna has just the way of answering that makes her think. Hmm. She guides Annabelle with a gentle hand as she discovers new insights and helps Annabelle see things from another perspective. She awakens Annabelle's compassionate nature as they talk while taking a stroll. This book is for those with imagination who see things not readily apparent to others. It is along the lines of The Little Prince who had adventures and was a bit of a stranger being around those that didn't understand him. Annabelle is a sweetheart who feels for other people/children. She is a wise old soul in a child's body. I believe sensitive people will appreciate the awareness and lessons she learns along her path to use in their own life. Even though it's a children's book, I feel it will appeal to the Innerchild within. I hope parents, teachers or friends will read this book to children and start a conversation about seeing the world through different lenses as a way to bring people together. It is Annabelle's plan to have a Tea Party inviting those who might not have any friends. Annabelle learns many lessons as they stroll along the path of desserts and each one is delicious.

  • Lenny Cyrus, School Virus

    Joe Schreiber, Matt Smith

Hardcover (HMH Books for Young Readers, April 2, 2013)
It seemed so logical at first. Fourteen-year-old Lenny Cyrus had loved Zooey Andrews since third grade. All the boy genius needed to do to win her heart, surely, was shrink down to the size of an amoeba, ooze into a gelatin capsule, and have his friend Harlan slip it (him!) into Zooey’s Diet Coke. Told in three voices, this fantastical middle grade novel takes Lenny deep into Zooey’s loud, splashing innards, where a talking astrovirus named Astro has a bad attitude about white blood cells (“self-righteous pus-bags”) and aromatic hormones disco dance. The question is, will Lenny and Zooey survive his crazy experiment in nanotechnology?
