Thoroughly enjoyed this book! I love history and to read it in the first person and in the words of a woman who had "grit" and enjoyed life and adventure was very entertaining.Kindle CustomerI liked the humor. I have had to guess a few times and hope the language of my guesses doesn't sound too modern, nor done too much harm to Mary's intent.The name Mary Faraday Huntington does not appear in any of the old records. Whoever wrote the words shamelessly talks about things rarely mentioned in stories of the Wild West. She describes the way it was long ago in the gold fields of the Sierras and among the soiled doves of San Francisco, not the sugar coated fairy tales of book and Hollywood.____________________Go get Mary's story and ride with her into the Wild West of long ago.Click on the bar, top right.

I enjoy Hoffman's characters. Their candor and no nonsense attitude. Yes, I will read Alice II.Jim Parker I’m a poor little orphan girl. All alone. You’re so big and strong and handsome. If you give me a little money, I’ll give you a nice big hug and kiss.If you're a sweet, little snowflake, go suck a lollypop.When I was four my mother drove away, leaving me on the sidewalk sobbing and screaming for her to come back. My father died before I was born. Not very nice of him but he left me a pile of money and a cute little cottage on Big Sur. Better than nothing.After blowing 10 foster homes I easily conned my way into UC Berkeley. I thoroughly enjoyed Alice II. Not only has Alice matured but her life has become more exciting. The question of reality is well woven into the plot.Jim ParkerWell, if you read my first book you know I'm not much for political correctness or prissy morality.
