Bobby the boat loves bobbing about on the sea, exploring different places, but he gets a little lonely. He spots a dog that looks miserable. It is homeless and hops on board when Bobby invites him. Rover, the new dog friend sees another homeless dog, Wuffles, later. Bobby thought one dog was enough, but he agreed, then the dogs go looking around, and come back with a homeless puppy. Bobby wants to help, so now he has three dogs on board. One day the sea gets very stormy, and Bobby is in danger of turning over...

Luke and his sister Lily keep having arguments. They just don't get on. The sibling rivalry is worse when Lily is doing really well at ballet and Luke is failing at football. Lily seems to want to keep it that way. Then luke begins to climb out of the deep dark well he felt as if he had fallen into. He climbs higher and gains more confidence. Guess who is there to help when Lily she really needs it? luke is up and out of that deep well again, he is able to save Lily from failure. Some sibling rivalry is thought to be normal, children establishing their rights and who they are. Lack of confidence, or feeling as if a sibling is favored over them by parents can cause more arguments. The main character, Luke, feels more able to be nice to his sister when he is doing better at football again. Then he is able to help her with something very important to her, and she is so very grateful, calls him a good brother, and hugs him, much to their parent's surprise. Any child who loves football will love this book.

Jack the cat is so hungry he snatches a fish and hopes to share it with his rat and mice friends, but he is chased by an angry man. He jumps on board a moored boat, to hide. When he creeps out, the boat is out to sea and he is given the job of ships cat and expected to 'deal' with the rats and mice on the boat. He is friendly towards rats and mice. How is he going to keep his new, purr-fect home?

The three cats, Charlie, Emily, and Archie are going to visit the home of their latest friend, Barker the dog. He lives on a farm. They hear a lamb calling for its mother. Barker thinks the mother will come over to it soon. The friends look at the cows, pigs, and hens. The lamb is still crying. They go to help it. They walk around the field and can't find her. The other sheep have not seen her. All ends happily.

Fully illustrated book for children. Jafari the giraffe meets a new, very small friend, a green caterpillar. Jafari is afraid of accidentally standing on his new friend. They want to play together but they can't find each other, although they can hear each other. Children can search for the caterpillar as they read the story, or have it read to them. Eventually, they locate each other and have some fun. Jafari meets more friends and has fun and comes to the rescue in additional Jafari The Giraffe stories. Jafari the giraffe meets a new giraffe friend, Mali. He introduces her to his monkey friends and they have fun. Then Jafari pops his head up and accidentally knocks a newly completed bird's nest to pieces. He tries to rebuild it but doesn't have a clue about building a nest. Then he has a good idea and helped by Mali and the monkeys, he builds a nest that makes the bird chirp and sing in happiness
