The Lost Island is the story of a sixteen-year-old boy named Tommie. When a series of strange events causes Tommie to fail his history teacher's final exam, he is sentenced to give up his summer job as a camp counselor to go on tour with his dad's fishing company. As soon as the tour begins, trouble ensues. After a series of unfortunate events, he has to take on the job as the cook's new assistant. A little while into the tour, the crew spots a ship in the distance. As it nears, they notice that it has been abandoned, so the company claims this "Ghost Ship." Unaware of what is to follow, Tommie climbs aboard the ship for inspection and to search for any bounty. Suddenly the sky breaks open and a storm erupts, sweeping the ship along with Tommie out into the middle of the great blue to be stranded on an island, from which there is absolutely no escape.

My Dollar is the first book of the My Series.The objective of the book is to help young children learn to read and count at the same time. The main character, Johnny Goodluck, has a streak of good luck when he finds coins in various places and receives coins from family members. It all adds up to a dollar. In a later series, Johnny will learn how to share his good fortune. My inspiration for the My Series came when I observed my twin grandsons saying things to each other like, "This is my ball, and that's your ball."
