  • Why the Universe Is the Way It Is

    Hugh Ross

Paperback (Baker Books, Oct. 1, 2008)
Increasingly astronomers recognize that if the cosmos had not unfolded exactly as it did, humanity would not, could not, exist. Yet these researchers--along with countless ordinary folks--resist belief in the biblical Creator. Why? They say a loving God would have made a better home for us, one without trouble and tragedy. In Why the Universe Is the Way It Is, Hugh Ross draws from his depth of study in both science and Scripture to explain how the universe's design fulfills several distinct purposes. He also reveals God's surpassing love and ultimate purposes for each individual. Why the Universe Is the Way It Is will interest anyone who wonders where and how the universe came to be, what or who is responsible for it, why we are here, or how and when the universe ends. Far from leaving the reader at this philosophical jumping-off point, Ross builds toward answering the big question of human destiny and the specific question of each reader's personal destiny.

  • THE BOMBED HOUSE: & Other Stories

    Hugh Cross

Paperback (Independently published, Sept. 11, 2019)
To me writing is an enjoyable way of sorting out the bits and pieces of the observed life. Every author has his or her own reason for writing, but an appreciative reaction from readers is the icing on the cake. I dare to hope that this latest collection is as good fun to read as it was for me to write. Hugh Cross. Hugh Cross was Born in Leicester in1936, Hugh left school to do his national Service in the RAF before obtaining his MA at Magdalen College Cambridge. His passions in life proved to be literature, theatre and film. These passions came to full fruition when, his early 80s, he was inspired to write. The perceptions and unique experiences from his life are reflected in his first published volume Scenes From A Life. This second volume The Bombed House & Other Stories continues a series of cameos, short stories and reviews that illuminate aspects of the 20th century with which many people will identify. A fascinating read. Wendy Robertson 2019.
