  • Cold Call

    Pam Henry

    language (, April 20, 2011)
cold call definition: a visit made to someone who is not known or not expecting contact.Ross is an ordinary boy just out on a walk with his dog, but then he is given a unique gift of communication with the Plant Earth itself. The earth has found its own voice; itโ€™s reacting against pollution and is sending instructions for the damage to be repaired. The snow is choosing where it falls and the wind is targeting where it wants to blow. There's more snow than anyone has ever seen, and with the ice and snow and biting, swirling wind come visitors with a mission and a message to deliver. Woven within the message is a thread linking past, present and future, giving chosen families a series of mystifying revelations, blurring yesterday, today and tomorrow into one. Time and space can be manipulated to achieve the desired effect. This supernatural adventure promises to spark any child's imagination. Carrying Ross on a journey back in time to the original construction of Stone Henge, through to the present where the planet is badly in need of help and itโ€™s not afraid to ask for it, or demand it.

Paperback (Ulan Press, Aug. 31, 2012)
This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. Despite these occasional imperfections, we have brought it back into print as part of our ongoing global book preservation commitment, providing customers with access to the best possible historical reprints. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
