  • ABANDONED by G.D. Griffiths /CHILDREN'S BOOK /UNWANTED KITTEN /1st

    G.D. Griffiths

    Paperback
Here for your delectation is the SPECTACULAR AND RARE------------------ABANDONED by G.D. Griffiths. In spite of an eventful time on Dartmoor heath that includes flood, brush fire, foxhounds and hardhearted humans, the life of this feral she-cat is fairly tame. Her life is so eventful in this low-keyed story (sentimental only when humans enter the picture). It is most sympathetic when it appears to be a realistic, stray's eye view of life. This incident-crowded narrative achieves the instant identification with the animal heroine that pet lovers will thoroughly enjoy. This is the OVERSIZED softcover stated FIRST YEARLING EDITION FROM MARCH, 1976. Other than a name on the title page and staining from storage, the book is in excellent reading condition. There are no rips, tears, markings, etc.---and the pages and binding are tight (see photo). Check my feedback to see that I sell exactly as I describe. So bid now for this magnificent, impossible-to-find ANIMAL / LITERARY COLLECTIBLE.

  • Jake Goes Adventuring: Nighttime Adventures in the Woods

    Ed Griffiths

    (, March 20, 2019)
Bed time can be a special time for kids. It gives parents some quiet time to interact with a child; one on one. With the right topics it can be a great teaching time. That is how these stories came into being. These books were begun for our grandchildren., so every story includes a grandchild as an active participant in the adventures. In addition, They get to use their imagination, and suggest other characters or other story lines. We always end the stories with happy endings, with a moral and then their nightly prayers. On a side note, by the end of a story, they are usually relaxed and ready to go right to sleep. As the children grow older, they like to read the books themselves, and even imagine stories for themselves so the teaching continues. The characters of the stories have definitive personalities, which are reflective of how they interact with us and each other in real life. Moxie stealing Rupert’s bones and Cooper helping turtles across the road or bringing us to an injured raccoon are just a few examples.Ed GriffithsNote: thanks to my wife Gayle for all her support and suggestions. These books/stories would not be nearly as good or as much fun with out her inputs.
  • THE BOOK OF HEBREWS: A Cultural Based Commentary

    Ed Griffiths

    (G/pub, Dec. 8, 2018)
The book of Hebrews was written for the Jews who had accepted Jesus (Yeshua) as their Messiah, They were in danger of slipping back into the traditions of Judaism because they had not put down roots in the soil of ChristianityThe book of Hebrews appeals to the Greek mind as well as the Jewish mind. The Greeks saw everything on earth as the shadows cast by what was real, so they were always searching for reality. Hebrews presents Jesus as reality. The Jews were searching for a way to approach GOD because historically they had felt too unholy to approach Him. Hebrews presents Jesus as the approach
  • So What's Next!: The Sequel to So What! Stories

    G J Griffiths

(CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, May 4, 2014)
Molly Pearson is a young Biology teacher with two passions in her life: a strong commitment to protecting wildlife; and a desire to encourage the children in her classes to feel the same enthusiasm for Nature. When her class decide they would like to restore the school’s neglected and vandalised nature corner her hopes are raised and challenged at the same time. The hurdles that she meets along the way will include bullied and bullying pupils, as well as the expected ones of finance and willing manpower. But leaping those fences does not prepare the ambitious Molly for a dramatic fire and the confusion of a new passion in her life, in the form of Oliver Shrimpton. Will he become that significant someone, or is he just another obstacle for her to overcome?G J Griffiths' latest novel, in the So What! series of stories, is still based firmly around the events that take place within the "walls" of Birch Green High School. It follows some of the trials and tribulations of Molly Pearson, a previous novice teacher who was mentored by Robert Jeffrey - the main character from the first book. Molly's efforts to spread the important message, about protecting wildlife and the natural environment, reflect something that has always been important to the author. For that reason some of the proceeds from the sales of this book will be donated to wildlife charities. In addition to offering a charming tale of schoolchildren protecting the wildlife around their school, the later chapters of the book contain much helpful information to nature lovers who wish to make their garden more "wildlife friendly".
