  • Craig Dobbs' Flying Saucer

    Gregory Stone

    language (, July 10, 2014)
The book is a story of a fifteen year old boy who accidently comes upon a dormant flying saucer. Craig is hiking alone in the mountains on his way to fish in Pristine Lake, Montana. The flying saucer has lain dormant on the ledge of a limestone cliff since its shutdown two hundred years before. The young boy's brain waves re-activate the flying saucer for its new teenage boy commander. After returning home Craig must prove to his parents that he is telling them the truth about finding and now being the commander of a flying saucer. His parents are in tears fearing their son has suffered a severe head injury while hiking. What else would account for such a bizarre story? To prove to them he doesn't have a head injury Craig telepathically tells Eck, the on-board computer, to fly the UFO to the field below his parents' hillside home. Upon arrival of the flying saucer, now hovering over the corn field pandemonium ensues. The local television station arrives on scene to investigate the UFO sighting. Also, American and Russian military units have spotted the UFO on their radar screens. Now, it's a race by two Russian spies stationed in the United States to find the UFO before the United States Air Force can locate it. The book includes many humorous adventures. One is where Craig had Eck, the on-board computer, fly the UFO over the high school stadium during a night football game. He too shows it to his girlfriend, still unaware that the Soviet spies are now trying to capture him and his flying saucer. Craig doesn't have a clue on how his life will be changed. He is completely unaware of the ramifications of his having complete control over an alien space vehicle. Now, he has Russian spies after him and the U.S. Air Force hot on his trail. The story is fast moving. It is an exciting read for those with imagination.

I am the giant boulder that you are resting against. Jodi, now confused asked Loki, the giant boulder, to reveal himself. Loki agreed only after telling Jodi that he was the fearsome beast the local farmers had seen. Afraid they might shoot him, he now hides during the day. Now, Loki only goes out at night to feed on the sweet sagebrush that grows outside the gully. After Loki reveals himself, Jodi isn't frightened. He sees the kindness in Loki's eyes. Also, there is a big smile on his face knowing that he had finally found a friend. He tells Jodi that he had previously lived in a deep subterranean cavern deep beneath the Earth. Many years before and after an earthquake had opened a passageway between their two worlds, Loki disobeyed his parents and traveled up the passageway. And, after Loki stepped on to our Earth his small puppy sized body grew to the size of a real brontosaur dinosaur. Because of his giant size Loki knew he could never go home again. He told how he missed his mother and father, and all his dinosaur friends. Fortunately, Jodi and his parents will discover how to get Loki back to his underground cavern home before the summer ends.
