    eBook
The third book in the Traitoress series although this one could be read in isolation. The civil war is coming to an end whilst romance and the accusations in Rachel Hanover's journal are not coming to an end. The writings in Rachel's journal have fatal consequences for some of those who never met her and those who knew her - including an enemy cousin, Christina, who was the only intended target of her accusations. Christina Norfolk remains in danger and in isolation as her enemies continue to hunt her down - despite this she rescues a child called Rebecca from a convent in Paris and returns her to England. Helen Seymour returns from Wales for her mother's funeral and she does all that she can to discredit Christina and so ensure her brother's union with Sarah Richmond. Eleanor York continues to hunt down Christina and so Carlisle takes her and her sisters to the safety of Colchester but his plan takes a dramatic turn for the worse when the city is besieged by Parliament's forces leaving his charges to face famine and death. With King Charles having lost the war, and his trial and death assured, Helen adopts Judith, a girl bought from an asylum and a girl with a dark past. Carlisle begins a relationship with a servant called Marian much to the consternation of those who know him. In Oxford Christina and Eleanor face severe challenges which are forced upon them by the deceased Rachel Hanover. Christina makes a difficult journey to prove her innocence - a journey which will cost her more than just her reputation. In much the same style as the first two novels there is love, death, romance, deceit and passion in this third book. And some surprises and new characters.
