Science and technology are favorite topics in the Wentworth household in Etowah, Tennessee. Jon Wentworth develops new technology for the Mimitsu Computer Company; his new transducer is about to earn him a promotion. And thirteen-year-old Wesley is working on a three-foot tall robot for his school's science fair. But something out of this world occurs when these two items become one. As Wesley puts the finishing touches on his robot, he borrows his father's transducer. That, combined with a freak meteor storm and cell phone signals, transports Wesley, his seventeen-year-old sister Macy, her friend Ashley, and the dog Pugston to another planet. The three teens soon discover they have landed on the planet Solaria in the Heledrium Galaxy, 120 light-years away from Earth. Greeted by the eight-foot-tall Giradious, they learn the planet is under siege from the Tojinians who are stealing a high-protein food source. The teens feel compelled to help the Solariens in their fight against tyranny. Wesley, Ashley, Macy, and Pugston hope they will survive the perilous catacombs, sinister creatures, and the Tojinian guards to return to Etowah alive.
