  • Two-Faced

    Cameron Carpenter

    eBook (, July 15, 2014)
To Violet Warner, high school had become a dull and monotonous grind. She was tired of her parents’ constant nagging and ridiculous expectations. She was tired of being unpopular, and fed up with being ignored by the boy of her dreams. She longed for a carefree, happy life; free of pressure and stress. Violet wished she had the courage to stand up to her overbearing parents, ask out the star of the football team, and cast off the shackles of her shyness. All of that changed when Violet got her hands on an experimental antidepressant drug undergoing clinical trials. It worked like magic. Overnight, her life completely turned around. Violet felt confident, sexy, and above all, happy. Within weeks she had taken charge of her life, and earned herself a spot at the popular table. Violet felt as though she had finally arrived where she belonged. This elation is short-lived, however, as Violet’s dream quickly becomes a horrific nightmare as she learns the awful price of chemical happiness. In this story of drug abuse and psychodrama, 17 year-old bestselling author Cameron Carpenter cleverly reimagines the classic Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde tale in a high school setting. It is a gripping novella that will thrill readers of all ages.

  • Prissy the Persnickety Cat

    Gloria Carpenter

    language (, July 23, 2019)
Her's my story from the beginning. I was born in a litter of kittens, although I'm really too young to remember-but that's the way it usually happens, so I've noticed from later observation. I had to have been the prettiest and most darling of all-because honey, look at me now. I'm plump, but not fat-just nicely filled out. You wouldn't have called me long-haired or short-haired either, so of course, my hair is the perfect length: very soft, it even feels like velvet-that's why I enjoy grooming myself so very much. My colors are perfectly matched: black on the outside, and white in the middle. I have black lining around my eyes, with beautiful, black, long, lush lashes. My eyes look like a human model's, but I don't need to wear eyeliner and mascara. Oh! Did I mention I have the cutest little nose?Be sure to look forward to my other two books that follow this one. Enjoy reading!!!
  • Pendulum II: The Story of America's Three Aviation Pioneers: Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Glenn Curtiss

    Jack Carpenter

Paperback (Arsdalen, Bosch & Co., June 15, 2003)
This is the book you heard about on NPR, National Public Radio's Talk of the Nation: Science Friday with Ira Flatow on August 1, 2003. In an interesting three-way interplay about early flight and the Wright brothers, author Jack Carpenter, Paul Hoffman (author, Wings of Madness) and Michael Lavelle (Museum of Flight) discussed this most timely subject... Also, Smithsonian AIR & SPACE, Centennial Edition, 100 YEARS of FLIGHT, March, 2003, chose PENDULUM as one of but 14 books (of "Hundreds of works ") recommended to its readers. PENDULUM II The Story of America’s Three Aviation Pioneers: Wilbur Wright, Orville Wright, and Glenn Curtiss, "The Henry Ford of Aviation" - Including How The Partnership of Alexander Graham Bell and Glenn Hammond Curtiss Led to the Founding of The American Aviation Industry. In this, the 100th YEAR of FLIGHT, Jack Carpenter’s acclaimed 1992 PENDULUM - the only book telling a multi-sided story - was among the select few recommended by the Smithsonian’s AIR & SPACE Centennial Edition, March, 2003. This sold-out bestseller is the foundation for PENDULUM II – with its amazing, never-before-told story of one of the most important but least known chapters in American history. Improved – and 25% larger - in its 520 archival-quality pages PENDULUM II tells the whole story with all the players in this epic tale of flight’s beginnings. You will read in this unique chronologically and interwoven story – and view in its hundreds of archival photographs and exhibits - "what actually happened" with the Wrights, Glenn Curtiss – including Alexander Graham Bell’s hitherto unknown pivotal role - with Henry Ford, Thomas Edison, Octave Chanute and others on the sidelines. The result of over two decades research and a 135-work selected bibliography, PENDULUM II focuses upon (1), a semi-secret Agreement made between the Smithsonian and Orville Wright’s heirs, and (2), a volcanic, historically important letter written by Gilbert M. Grosvenor, National Geographic’s chairman (and Bell’s great-grandson), to the author - which "changes everything." Nowhere else are the facts - hidden for almost a century - of this so misunderstood and misstated story told as in PENDULUM II, arguably the most complete, revealing and timely book of this era.
  • Trash Panda and Murder Dog: A Story About Love and Acceptance

    Hope Carpenter

    language (, Feb. 7, 2020)
A sweet tale about two outcasts who find love, acceptance and friendship. Dog is a Pit Bull who everyone calls Murder Dog, but is really a very sweet girl who loves the color pink. Everyone call Raccoon, Trash Panda because he like digging in the trash bins for treats and surprises. They confide in each other after Dog pulls Raccoon from a Drain in the street and save him when no one else cared too. This book is a great conversation starter about social conscious and prejudice and learning to be accepting of those who are different.
