Hardcover (The Macmillan Company, March 15, 1938)
The decorative dust jacket on this book is truly magnificent, gold and red with a weeinie dog up top and it adds much to this vintage 1945 hardcover. (Don' t buy this one without the jacket) The dust jacket is in mylar but has some fraying along the edges that happened before the mylar. The mylar has kept it very bright and lovely. Book is clean and bright inside, VG+.
  • The Room

    G. B. Stern

Paperback (Forgotten Books, Sept. 14, 2018)
Excerpt from The RoomAunt Lavvy wanted an open cheque for five pounds cashed. And after Hal had teased her a bit more as to what she could possibly want with all that money at once, he took the cheque and departed. But first of all he kissed her, because she was rather a dear little old lady, and was just the right height for the manly embraces of seventeen-and-a-half. Most men feel it a merit in their more aged female possessions to be small and frail-looking, to have pink cheeks and silvery hair, and a soft voice and delicate white hands. Aunt Lavvy achieved all this; she was the perfect cliché among dear little old ladies, down to the very lavender-bags she placed among her linen. That was why all the young Maxwells adored her.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books. Excerpt from The China ShopI had stayed in the room with Felicity when Larry Munro died, because I wanted to make quite sure that I was not being humbugged again: I had twice seen him die upon the stage, and each time I believed in it with quiet satisfaction, until the shock of his subse quent entrance, splendid as ever, into Felicity's drawing-room. Such treatment naturally rendered me suspicious.About the PublisherForgotten Books publishes hundreds of thousands of rare and classic books.
