Over Centuries, the wizards of old have controlled the kingdoms on the feonic continent, until the carolingian rebellion put a sudden end to their rule. Now, the people crave for calmer times, but another storm is gathering on the horizon. In the west, a war of succession for the crown reaches far past the borders of the empire and pushes a refugee-wave into the lands. Many of the hunted look for a new life, but only find one as outlaws, forced into crime. From the north, the coastal regions are threatened by barbarian hordes that might once again rain upon the lands in another invasion. And in the heart of the empire, a new conflict arises. A conflict, which might shatter the balance of nations. In the middle of this maelstrom of conflicts and intrigues, the young Fox Avørn grows up. Coming closer to his ascension, he stumbles into a plot that not only will change his life, the one of his house or of the people in the lands, but of the whole empire in its core.
