  • In The Butterfly Kingdom There Is Love

    Laura L. Thompson

eBook (Christian Faith Publishing, Inc., Oct. 21, 2016)
Have you ever seen a butterfly and wondered to yourself, where is it going? Well, I have heard that there is a beautiful garden and in that garden lives a royal family of butterflies that eat special fruit from a tree called the Blessing Tree that God has made just for them. In this story, you will journey through the butterfly kingdom and see how the royal family of butterflies travels throughout the garden, helping others they meet along the way. The inspiration for writing this book comes from scripture verse, Galatians 5:22–23, which is the fruit of the spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control. The royal family knows that God has given this special fruit to them so that they can be an example to others to follow God’s ways and to help others that live in the garden to do the same. In this story, Prince Joey, who is the son of King Monarch and Queen Alexandra, finds a little butterfly that is sad, lonely, and afraid. Prince Joey, who has eaten the special fruit and is filled with love, helps his little friend, Nicholas. The storyline’s primary focus centers on adoption and the loss of a loved one. It is written in a lighthearted manner to help children understand this situation and to deal with it in a healthy, positive manner, and more importantly, from a Godly perspective. This book is geared toward the targeted age of preschool and elementary-age children. The main character, Prince Joey, who is featured in this story, is named after the author’s grandson Joey, and she has personalized the butterfly to reflect him and the love that she sees inside him. If we sow seeds of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control, we will always produce good fruit.

  • The Emperor of San Francisco

    Max Thompson

Paperback (Blue Box Books, June 16, 2016)
On a plaza at the edge of downtown San Francisco, Oz and Drew—Crown Princess of Pacifica and Crown Prince of Midlam—find Finn as he steps out of a broken down, burned out egg-shaped ship cloaked in the recesses of a portal. With no memory of who or from which When he is, Finn is a puzzle that time-traveler Oz wants to solve—with the help of Drew, a cat named Wick, and the extremely touch-phobic Emperor. As they come closer to assembling the puzzle, Oz realizes that the picture isn’t about Finn or When he's from, but about the Emperor she’s known all her life. As a teenager, he saved the life of six-year-old Crown Prince Jackson, but King Jackson is now forty-three and the Emperor a year younger, and no one knows where he came from or why he refuses to be touched—or his name. Oz describes him as an icon of the city and protector of all, but she’s beginning to wonder: who is the Emperor, really? With all of time at her beck and call, she’s determined to find out.
  • Gods Don't Sleep

    T. Thompson

    (Independently published, Dec. 19, 2014)
Bryson Miller is a sixteen-year-old high school student who has already dealt with his mother's death and his father's subsequent alcoholism. When that happened, he adapted. He became the core of the family, making sure that groceries were bought and his sisters stayed out of trouble all while maintaining perfect grades with matching ambitions. Balancing his dysfunctional family life with a shining image became routine. He doesn't view himself as special or even especially unlucky. After all, there are plenty of people in his small town who are worse off. What is supposed to be just another normal Friday night, attending his friend Gary's party and keeping Gary out of trouble, becomes a nightmare when Bryson is attacked. In the days that follow, he does what he always does and attempts to adjust... to being a vampire. However, his sire won't leave him or his family alone. What she wants isn't something Bryson is willing to give, and when her threats to his girlfriend get Bryson killed, his soul ends up in the Underworld, ruled by the creator of vampires, the God of Temptation. Now Bryson is being asked to work for the god responsible not only for ruining his life but actually ending it. Although given a choice, the consequences for his refusal are far more complicated and far reaching than they seem. When he learns he won't be the one paying the price, how can he say no? Gods Don't Sleep is the first book in a planned trilogy. It serves as an origin story for the young protagonist and sets up the action to come.
