Present Future is an anthology covering a dozen short stories that written over the course of a decade and a half. A few of these have been published previously, some were finished and never published, others existed as ideas recorded as notes until they were fleshed out for this work, and a couple of them were written exclusively for this collection. All of them have been reworked and reedited for the enhancement of your enjoyment.Taken together these represent a standalone cross section of the author's overall work without requiring any prior reading. The genres range across the spectrum of science fiction from military adventure science fiction (Warship Paragon) to science fiction horror (Skilled Labor) with many stops in between. Both big ideas and amusing concepts are explored. Many of these stories fit easily into the sprawling structure of the Post First Contact setting, books like Sevastopol and Law’s End, while others were deliberately envisioned as their own independent entities.
