The author is a widely known novelist, biographer, and historian. Here she offers a fascinating look at the so-called "children of Mt. Vernon." George Washington had no children, but his wife raised children by her first marriage, and Washington's brother Samuel had children of his own. Here, in three parts, are: Martha's Children, Jacky's Children, and Samuel Washington's Children. Included is a Washington genealogy and a Custis genealogy. Extremely well written, most interesting.
