  • When Mother Lets Us Give a Party: A book that telnd amuse their little friends

    Elsie Duncan Yale

    language (anboco, Aug. 27, 2016)
There is nothing that is much more fun than a party, is there? Mother hasn't forgotten the days when she set a little table in the attic with the dolls' tea-set, and had cambric tea and jam sandwiches. As for a birthday party, why it doesn't seem a bit like a birthday without a frosted cake and pink candles and ice cream in forms—but there! That was to be a surprise.Birthday parties only come once a year, of course, but there are other parties in between, afternoon teas on the piazza or in the playroom, or in the barn, if you are so fortunate as to have a barn. These parties oughtn't to mean extra work for mother, for you can have them all yourself, if mother is willing. So when she says, "Yes, you may have a party," after you have hugged her, and told her she was the dearest mother in the world, you can begin to get ready.

  • The Two Christmas Boxes. A Play for Girls

    Elsie Duncan Yale

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, May 22, 2017)
About the Book Biblical studies are a set of diverse disciplines that are concerned with a study of the Bible, i.e. the Tanach and the New Testament. There were four gospels comprising the New Testament (Matthew, Mark, Luke and John), and these are the main sources of information about the life of Jesus. Bible studies itself draws on many disciplines ranging from archaeology, ancient history, cultural backgrounds, textual criticism, literary criticism, historical backgrounds, philology, and social science. As to philology for example, most of the Hebrew Bible, the Tanakh, which formed the basis of the Christian Old Testament, was written in Biblical Hebrew, with a few chapters rendered in Biblical Aramaic. On the other hand, the New Testament was written in Koine Greek. Also in this Book Administration in Christian Churches refers to the control of the people that come under the jurisdiction of the church (including bishops, priests, nuns and lay employees), as well as the assets of the Church (which can include religious and non-religious administrtative building and a range of other assets). In the Catholic Church, for example, the supreme administrator and steward of to all ecclesiastical assets is the Pope, through the primacy of his governance. However, Papal administrative authority is exercised primarilly through the Congregations of the Roman Curia and other similar administrative bodies. And in this Book The history of Christianity concerns the Christian religion, with its various denominations, from the life of Jesus Christ in the 1st century to the present. Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Christianity spread to all of Europe in the Middle Ages, and since the Renaissance, has expanded throughout the world and become the world's largest religion (with over 2 billion faithful). At first persecuted, but later embraced by the Roman Empire, the East-West Schism, or Great Schism of 1054, separated the Church into Western (Latin) and Eastern (Greek) branches, i.e., Western Catholicism (based on Rome) and Eastern Orthodoxy (based on Constantinople). The rise of Islam resulted in a number of Crusades fought by Christian Armies from Europe, whose aim was to re-capture and hold Jerusalem. In 1453, Constantinople fell to the Ottoman Empire, and Christianity was almost completely removed from the territory that now comprises Turkey. The three most important traditions that emerged from the Protestant Reformation (1521-1610) were the Lutheran, Reformed (Calvinist, Presbyterian, etc.), and Anglican traditions.About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades.
