The Camp Rock Text Message Book sends that message loud and clear, via an attached toy text messenger with LCD screen, scrapbook-style storybook pages crammed with dialogue and photos from the movie, and a handy chart with 61 common texting shortcuts and abbreviations. Kids ages 6 and older will love pretending to text with Mitchie, Tess, Shane, and Caitlyn. As they read the story, children can use the conversation starter codes in the book and push the buttons to receive electronic texts from the Camp Rock characters-and then reply. Each text appears on the LCD screen and as an audio message.Kids will have fun pressing 11 buttons on the colorful LCD text messenger to send and receive messages. A red LED light flashes and the messenger "dings" whenever a new text appears. The unit recognizes the button(s) pressed and generates an appropriate response message. The last message closes the exchange with a signoff such as "Talk to you later."Here's how to use the Camp Rock Text Message Book:Press one of the three-digit codes found in the book, and one of your favorite campers will send you a text message.Press RECEIVE to pick up your message.Reply to the character by pressing a button (yes, no, LOL, IDK, G2G, or WE), then press SEND.Press RECEIVE to retrieve the return texts. To keep the conversation going, press another button and SEND.Enter a new three-digit code to start a new conversationThe Camp Rock Text Message Book conforms to the Specifications for Toy Safety of ASTM F963-07. The book has been safety tested for children 3 years and older. Three replaceable long-life AG-13 button cell batteries that power the book are included.
