Forced to land one late afternoon in ruined castle grounds during a fierce hailstorm, Kokola and Bo meet the old caretaker Tipler of the former castle. He shows them a magical boulder, which he says can transport eligible beings to the future. Kokola and Bo seize the chance to time travel, since both love adventure. Landing in 16th C. Florence, Italy, they befriend Master Leonardo da Vinci and learn some of his many secrets. This great painter and inventor intrigues Kokola, who hopes to learn more about the Master's painting techniques, particularly the smoke effect. Bo wants to learn more about making flying machines from Leonardo, because he's passionate about flying.
