  • Scattered Leaves From a Physician's Diary

    Dr. Albert Abrams

eBook (BIG BYTE BOOKS, Feb. 10, 2014)
Scoundrel, comedian, conman, or healer? Dr. Albert Adams was a real bigger-than-life character whose unconventional treatment methods in the early 20th century got him and some of his practitioners into hot water.Abrams (1863–1924) was an American doctor, well known during his life for inventing machines which he claimed could diagnose and cure any disease. Challenged from the very beginning about his claims, it was conclusively demonstrated at the end of his life, and again shortly after his death, that his claims were false and deceptive by design. In 1900 he penned this supposed account of some of his medical adventures. It is both ridiculous and hilarious at the same time. It's difficult to know if Abrams meant this to be comical but one look at the self-satisfied expression on the cover of this book makes one believe he was in on the joke.Be sure to LOOK INSIDE or download a sample.

  • Pop Pop's Pond - Russ the Hippopotamus

    T Albert

    language (, Feb. 2, 2015)
I am a story teller and songwriter and have included two of my favorite stories in this book. Pop Pop’s Pond and Russ the Hippopotamus are two fun and educational stories, contain fun activities, and both inspired by my grandchildren. I hope you get as much enjoyment and entertainment from this book as I have had in creating it.Pop Pop’s Pond is a real backyard pond and my favorite place. It’s not very big but it has everything a big pond or small lake would have living in, and around it.The story describes the pond, its inhabitants, and instills a sense of wonder and respect for nature to the reader.Russ the Hippopotamus is an educational story describing the hippopotamus and its environment in a creative and imaginative manner. As you will see, Russ’s imagination is as creative as yours.Although the young reader will have fun with these stories and the activities, the intent is to find and share a special time, where the more experienced reader, and the young reader, can use their imaginations and, together, visit these special places.

This book was originally published prior to 1923, and represents a reproduction of an important historical work, maintaining the same format as the original work. While some publishers have opted to apply OCR (optical character recognition) technology to the process, we believe this leads to sub-optimal results (frequent typographical errors, strange characters and confusing formatting) and does not adequately preserve the historical character of the original artifact. We believe this work is culturally important in its original archival form. While we strive to adequately clean and digitally enhance the original work, there are occasionally instances where imperfections such as blurred or missing pages, poor pictures or errant marks may have been introduced due to either the quality of the original work or the scanning process itself. We appreciate your understanding of these occasional imperfections, and sincerely hope you enjoy seeing the book in a format as close as possible to that intended by the original publisher.
  • Fabled Stories from the Zoo: Tea-Time Tales for Young Little Folks and Young Old Folks

    Albert Alberg

Paperback (Leopold Classic Library, Jan. 5, 2016)
About the Book Fairy tales, wonder tales, magic tales are a folklore genre taking the form of a short story that typically includes magical beings such as dwarfs, dragons, elves, fairies, giants, gnomes, goblins, griffins, mermaids, talking animals, trolls, unicorns, or witches. Generally, magic or enchantments are involved. Fairy tales are distinguished from legends, are mainly derived from European tradition and folk lore, and are generally children's literature. Mythology has a broader and older pedigree than fairy tales, dating back to ancient times in a number of European, African, Middle Eastern and Asian civilizations. Best known among these to Western audiences are Ancient Greek and Old Norse myths and legends. Generally, these myths and legends describe epic quests, journeys and interactions between human adventurers or heroes and god-like deities.About us Leopold Classic Library has the goal of making available to readers the classic books that have been out of print for decades.
