Fiddler the Frog, Kidder the Ferret, and Rhymertoo the Hedgehog, love to do what any three best friends do best...explore ways to introduce adventure into what might otherwise become just a ho-hum day or life. Their story, in this first of a series of future adventures, begins when they come upon a stray ballerina shoe and plan a way to have some fun in it. For these three devoted friends, life is made up of excitement, a little mystery and a whole lot of fun. Fiddler, Kidder, and Rhymertoo discover adventure as they prepare to use the shoe for a sailing trip. Creative little creatures that they are, enhances their already quite unique personalities. Fiddler "croaks" out songs while he plays his fiddle and Kidder makes a joke about everything. Rhymertoo is all about nonsense, because whatever comes out of his mouth doesn't make sense...it ONLY has to rhyme! What else does a hedgehog do? Their appearance and ways they communicate with each other offers an example for communicating to young readers and listeners how sometimes the best of friendships are not built upon likenesses but often upon their differences. When we all think and act alike, adventure and creativity will be delegated only to a small box and leaves us unchallenged to step out of the box into the freedom of the thoughts and ideas of the different friends who have been sent into our life. Fiddler, Kidder and Rhymertoo, therefore discover adventure in their lives, through the small things they see around them as a possibility for adventure. It is often in the things one usually does not think would be used in such a way, such as using a shoe for a whole lot more than just wearing. Yet, somehow, the shoe always fits their adventure perfectly. Look for future trips in shoes with Fiddler, Kidder, and Rhymertoo.
