Youthful imagination is a wonderful thing, full of dreams, romantic images, adventures, but sometimes it meets head-on with the confusion and pain of real life. However, when that youthful mind has been fueled with tales of Cossacks, imperial Russia, fairy tales, war and revolution, and everything exciting for a young boy, by a bigger-than-life grandfather who is a real Cossack, then the pain of life's lessons can become pivotal in the coming of age and maturity of that boy. Grand-pere's Troika is a story of a young boy in Kansas whose Russian Cossack grandfather holds a special place in his heart. Their bond, however, becomes stressed and threatened by family tragedy, only to be renewed during a special Christmas and an memorable sleigh ride in a Grand-pere's troika that seals their love for eachother and infuses the season with warmth, family and lasting memories.
