The author, a solicitor, began his career in Dorset before moving to pursue a successful career in London. After qualifying as a lawyer he spent two years practicing in Kenya before returning to London where he joined a leading City firm. During those 30-odd years David Caruth travelled widely - his many experiences are recorded in this memoir. His two abiding interest- horse racing and politics - figure in this tale making up the other two strands of his eventful life. Here is a friendly, unpretentious narrative full of humor. The author, non-judgemental, is truly objective and at the same time entertaining. The overall impression is of a life fulfilled. His experiences whether in the fields of law, racing or politics will appeal to a wide spectrum of readers who may also see their lives as lived in three - or even more - strands.
