  • Leonard the Ladybug and Henry Hobblesworth

    Denny Hughes

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, Jan. 18, 2017)
This book is an amusing and touching story of the developing friendship between a small boy and a frightened, unhappy, and suddenly homeless ladybug. The book is illustrated with bright, kid-friendly cartoons, and is an easy, big-print read suitable for seven to ten year-olds. The story line would appeal equally to more advanced independent readers at the grade two level, or to readers at the grades three to five levels who may continue to struggle with fluency and vocabulary acquisition. This book would also work well when used as a read-aloud for younger children, especially as it lends itself so well to dramatization. Henry Hobblesworth’s loveable, happy-go-lucky character will delight adults and kids alike, as will the telling of Leonard’s catastrophic upheaval and his eventual discovery of a joyful friendship with a fun-loving and caring little boy.
