The short hybrid script/story depicts the sufferings and the struggles of an Indian lady who contracts AIDS in Mumbai-India.We all are plagued by our fears and prejudices; views and things which at times , even we are unaware of that we harbour. I have tried to capture the hurt of such ills upon its victims, especially one contracting the AIDS, from the POV of such a victim. Even today in our society, the social fear and general discrimination experienced by the patients of AIDS borders on alienation and isolation. It is a pathos that has been written to really realize the effects of collective discrimination on its victims. One may feel that there is an exaggeration in its making but I think what has been written is something that many of its victims may have experienced and suffered in their lives, especially in the earlier days of the disease when ignorance, fear and reactions ran rampant .I hope that one day , we may find ourselves treating others in a way that we collectively believe as to be an ideal-way or at least with compassion and as humane as humanly possible.It is a very short story, probably just 15 pages written as a hybrid between a script and a typical story and I apologize for such an approach, but I felt that it couldn't be expressed any better in any other way.Hope you would like the story.
