Kasey had grown up in a world where supernatural creatures were the norm. She knew lycans, vampires, witches, shape-shifters, and a whole assortment of minor creatures that were considered part of her world. Humans feared most of them. That was because they did not understand any of them. Plus, humans fear anything that does not look like them. Each species was trying to fit into human society, and most succeeded, at least, to a point. They were all interested in fitting in. For some, that would never happen. Why it was so important was a mystery. Each species had special abilities that made them superior to humans in almost every way. The difference was, this world belonged to the humans. It had always belonged to the humans, in spite of what the assorted species might think. If they were to survive as a species, each species had to be able to assimilate into the human world as seamlessly as possible.Kasey had managed to do so quite well. It was now Beatrice's turn. She was a lycan. There was no disputing that. She was, also, your average teenager. Could she assimilate into human society as well as her mother and Lydia had? That was something only time would tell. For now, she had both her lessons at school, and her lessons at Lydia's. Of the two, Lydia was the hardest one to please. She had never failed at her ability to train a young lycan to fit in, and she was not going to fail with Beatrice.
