The Adventures of Jack the Dog, a unique children's book, begins with the protagonist Jack (a cocker spaniel) in his daily routine: doing yoga, sniffing around, and chasing Sammy the squirrel around the backyard. Readers soon realize that this is no ordinary dog...Jack uses a wheel chair to get around because he's paralyzed, and that doesn't stop him at all! Jack chases Sammy through the neighborhood until Jack is locked out of the back yard! Oblivious to any danger, Jack continues to chase Sammy until he gets thirsty and tired and realizes that he's lost! Here's where the adventure really begins! Jack soon meets George, a large American Bulldog who's cautious about meeting people because they seem to always pick on him. Luckily, Jack proves himself to be different than the rest and the two new friends wander the neighborhood to find Jack's home. However, before Jack and George do so, they run into the neighborhood bullies, Sammy the squirrel and Foxy, a red fox! The situation with the four animals gets a little tense, until Jack's special wheel chair spinning move saves the day! Soon after, Jack and George (who turn out to be neighbors!) part ways and Jack is back home and spoiled! This fantastic children's book will satisfy all audiences! The illustrations are beautifully done and evoke images that make the story come to life! This book is a great tool for teaching about: accepting people/self for who they are! bullying! the power of friendship! The Adventures of Jack the Dog is a truly remarkable children's book and will leave you wanting for the story Jack's next adventure!
