  • A Snark Named Covid

    Cindy Sevell

Paperback (Independently published, May 2, 2020)
How can you explain what COVID-19 is to your child? This book will help! It is written in such a way that your child will be able to understand without getting into any graphics. The absolutely beautiful part in creating this book is that the author collected artwork from children living within her community, ranging in grades from K-12. Each page displays a unique piece of artwork specific to the young artist acknowledged with each submission. Cindy Sevell, the author, taught preschool for a few years. She found that the artwork her students created was far more beautiful than her own. She decided to include her community in this lighthearted approach at explaining a world wide pandemic. Your children will love this book, gain a new understanding of our world situation and thoroughly enjoy all of the artwork. Stay safe and enjoy the book!

  • An Ordinary School Day

    C. Hamilton, Cindy Revell

Paperback (Annick Press, March 6, 2004)
A fun and reusable sticker book There's nothing ordinary about Maya's day at school, except what happens to disrupt an otherwise normal day. Only the imagination of a young reader can complete this enormously amusing story that makes school seem really silly. Like its successful predecessor, The Mess, this creative sticker-storybook encourages children to create the most engaging story possible. By using a series of word stickers, readers fill in the blanks and create hilarious results. What does Maya pull out of her backpack? A pillow? A zucchini? How about a mermaid? What did Mr. Malek slip on in the library? Baloney? A wallaby? Perhaps it was a tamale? An Ordinary School Day gives kids the opportunity to salt the story and exercise their comedic muscle. The 66 reusable stickers (including 11 blanks) offer endless story possibilities, and can be stored until next time on the blank pages provided. Accordingly, each reading is unlike any other, and only the reader can determine what will make today anything but an ordinary school day.

  • A Pebble Story

    Emil Sher, Cindy Revell

Hardcover (Annick Press, June 1, 2014)
Let’s go pebbling! A child’s imagination can find something magical in just about anything—even an ordinary pebble. In this colorful board book, a little boy uses red and black pebbles to make a face. But when it comes to the teeth, wouldn’t green ones be perfect? With bucket in hand, he and his mom set out to find those just right pebbles. He finds pebbles on the road, in the river, and even in his dreams, but there are no green pebbles anywhere. The solution is easy—all it takes is some green paint, and before you know it, his pebble face is sporting a big green pebble smile. Perfect for very young children, this whimsical book shows how imagination and creativity can make anything possible. Sparse yet lyrical text describes the idyllic time the little boy spends with his mother, while the charming illustrations reflect the simple pleasures of a day in the country.
