As a grandmother (Nana) to a very bright, very observant six-year-old grandson, I have been awarded the privilege of seeing life again through the eyes of a child. When he was a bit younger, I asked him, Wheres the moon, Jasper? He would point to the night sky and say, There it is, thus inspiring me to write this short poetic, imaginative bedtime story of what the moon might do after being up all night. Needless to say, he was my attentive critic as I read it to him the first time. I was pleased it met his approval, and I hope it will meet yours too.

I Hope That... is a non-narrative book about the enduring love shared between parent and child. Using animals as universal imagery, I Hope That... seeks to articulate the complicated push and pull of growing up while learning self-reliance and empathy. Meant to be just as much for parents as for children, I Hope That... is a bittersweet reflection on parenting and childhood.
