Melody is ready for some anonymity. She totally digs being part of a rock band, but she needs a break, especially now that it’s early summer. The upcoming youth retreat will hit the spot. But this year, the director asks the Chosen Girls to do a Saturday night concert on the beach on their last night at the Beach Sports & Wilderness Center. That means Trin is coming too, and it won’t all be down time. After Russia unplugged, they could manage that with some tin cans, sticks, and some string. No problem. And with free tuition to the camp it’s an offer they can’t refuse! Mello’s desire for down time spirals from stolen moments alone to Mel’s sneaking off with the seniors for a trip to a spa, and eventually evolves into full blown selfishness, which leads her to make choices that get the girls lost, sunburned, and almost sleeping through a morning service they’re directing. Finally, after a painfully honest talk, Mello learns that she is the one who has been selfish.
