  • The Friends in North Hills; Tidbits: Short Paragraphs in Social Study and Humor

    Williams a O

Hardcover (Covenant Books, July 24, 2018)
This book was conceived as a satirical piece intended for teenagers as a means of teaching morals, ethics, dignity in labor, and social etiquette. It began as short essays written by the author as light humor for publication in a church house journal from the year 2007 to 2010 and was subsequently arranged with additional written pieces to make a collection of tidbits as seen presently. Each paragraph seeks to teach a lesson on social conduct or decency in demeanor. The animal subjects are depicted as social characters each having a peculiar behavior or social character of its own. The lessons espoused in the paragraphs are various. A critique, a commendation, or an observation that seeks to highlight a pattern of behavior not uncommon to human society.Sub-themes such as unfriendliness, deviance, diligence, chivalry, kindness, quietness, and peacefulness are exaggerated deliberately for emphasis to reinforce the lessons and messages desired in the book.A short quiz at the end of the book seeks to encourage reflective thinking on the few pages of this book to refresh the reader of the funny animal characters most of whom have funny four-letter names, the exception being Ernee the Ostrich, as you may guess rightly, ostriches are uncommon birds and do have a long name O-s-t-r-i-c-h; I could not think of a short name for Ernee. Hope you enjoy reading the paragraphs as much as I have enjoyed putting them together as a first-time public author.

  • Whales Facts: Photobook with real Images Fun Fact of Whales The Beginner's Guide to Whales

    A.K. Williams

    eBook (, April 9, 2019)
Whales are a generally dispersed and differing gathering of completely amphibian placental marine warm-blooded creatures. They are a casual gathering inside the infraorder Cetacea, for the most part barring dolphins and porpoises. Whales, dolphins, and porpoises have a place with the request Cetartiodactyla with even-toed ungulates and their nearest living relatives are the hippopotamuses, having veered around 40 million years back. The two parvorders of whales, baleen whales (Mysticeti) and toothed whales (Odontoceti), are thought to have part separated around 34 million years back. The whales involve eight surviving families: Balaenopteridae (the rorquals), Balaenidae (right whales), Cetotheriidae (the dwarf right whale), Eschrichtiidae (the dim whale), Monodontidae (belugas and narwhals), Physeteridae (the sperm whale), Kogiidae (the diminutive person and dwarf sperm whale), and Ziphiidae (the hooked whales). Whales are animals of the untamed sea; they feed, mate, conceive an offspring, suckle and raise their young adrift. So extraordinary is their adjustment to life submerged that they are unfit to get by ashore. Whales run in size from the 2.6 meters (8.5 ft) and 135 kilograms (298 lb) overshadow sperm whale to the 29.9 meters (98 ft) and 190 metric tons (210 short tons) blue whale, which is the biggest animal that has ever lived. The sperm whale is the biggest toothed predator on earth. A few animal varieties show sexual dimorphism, in that the females are bigger than guys. Baleen whales have no teeth; rather they have plates of baleen, a periphery like structure used to remove water while holding the krill and tiny fish which they feed on. They utilize their throat creases to extend the mouth to take in tremendous swallows of water. Balaenids have heads that can make up 40% of their weight to take in water. Toothed whales, then again, have tapered teeth adjusted to getting fish or squid. Baleen whales have an all around created feeling of "smell", while toothed whales have very much created hearing − their hearing, that is adjusted for both air and water, is so all around built up that some can endure regardless of whether they are visually impaired. A few animal categories, for example, sperm whales, are very much adjusted for plunging to incredible profundities to get squid and other favored prey.
