Joe Robinson
Carol Lea
(New Generation Publishing, Sept. 6, 2013)
Two 11 year old boys from completely different backgrounds form an unlikely friendship when they meet at Southlands School. Apart from ginger hair and freckles, they seem to have nothing in common. Joe Robinson lives on a council estate with his father and has a reputation as a cheeky troublemaker. He is every teacher's nightmare and loves to be the centre of attention by playing the class clown. Despite outward appearances, he is a surprisingly complex and likeable character. Harry Cowper-Smyth is lonely, gentle and reserved and the only child of the local MP. He has been a target of bullies but with the help of Joe and their tomboy friends, Poppy and Rachel, Harry's life changes completely. Joe Robinson is the hilarious yet heart-warming story of their friendship.
