  • How To Be In Divine Love: 10½ Principles That Will Make You A Happy, Purposeful Person

    C.W.E. Johnson

    (Independently published, March 1, 2019)
Move Beyond Occasional Happiness to Constant Contentment and a Blissful State of BeingWhy is it that happiness always comes and goes—if it comes at all? How can you sustain a deep state of peace and contentment in an ever more frightening world? What does it take to uncover and fulfil your life’s unique purpose? You will have noticed that our world's ecological, political, financial, educational, and religious systems are all in a state of turmoil—all appear to be in degradation, or at least entering a period of radical reformation. If you don't think this has much to do with you and your lifestyle, then the probability is that you are yet to become fully conscious of the significance of this tumultuous time for humanity—or the impact it will have upon you. Here are some psychological symptoms that reflect whether your subconscious mind is noticing what is known as our collective “shift in consciousness”:Feeling overwhelmed and generally anxious a lot of the timeA feeling of loneliness or disconnectedness from others—despite having plenty of friends and familyFinding your intimate relationships are becoming fractiousBecoming far more judgmental of yourself and othersSensing a distinct lack of direction to your lifeNo sense of fulfillment from how you lead your life. This book will help you to come to terms with our collective shift in consciousness and lay the foundations for you to ride the "Shift."You will learn of the absolute undistorted spiritual principles that steer the creation of your life’s reality. These “natural” principles are not a set of laws or commandments from on high; they are a purified set of mental behavioral guidelines—unadulterated by institutional dogma. They are the human psyche’s translation of the universal force behind all creation—the vitality of Divine Love. The Shift is a psychological mass event that will affect everyone. It is happening right now and its influence is accelerating. We are becoming aware that we truly “create our own reality,” both personally and collectively, and are changing the psychological aspects of our perceptions (our core belief systems) in accordance with this realization. The Shift will affect us all directly or indirectly in the coming years as the psychological ramifications percolate through to our personal realities. Nonetheless, being consciously aware of what’s happening and why and practicing the ten natural principles, will ease any personal fears that you associate with this collective experience.A review from the first edition:A Wonderful Guide for Those Who are Feeling a Little Lost These Days!"We live in a time when many people (and especially the younger folks) are finding the moral and ethical anchors being cut away. It's fine to scrutinize what drives our behavior, but currently it seems we have little to guide us other than rampant media messages of simply taking care of yourself and ignoring others. This book is a great guide of 10 principles that can help provide a way out of the collective morass and initiate thought-provoking concepts on defining who we want to be. I recommend this for many who are searching for their personal guidance in a spiritual setting and to be effective in day-to-day relationships."- David Barnett, BA, BS, MS.Practice is the key to instilling the virtues of these natural principles within your conscious mind. Assimilating the principles will allow you to ride the Shift with a deep-seated trust and confidence in yourself.Click on the "Look Inside" feature to find out more about the book’s content.

  • The First American Founder: Roger Williams and Freedom of Conscience

    Alan E. Johnson

Paperback (CreateSpace Independent Publishing Platform, July 7, 2015)
Roger Williams, a deeply religious minister in seventeenth-century New England, revolutionized thinking about the role government should play in religion. Banished from Massachusetts for his controversial views, he founded the Town of Providence on the basis of full liberty of conscience and total separation of church and state. These radical ideas were adopted by the Colony of Providence Plantations, which later became known as the Colony and then State of Rhode Island. Williams also insisted, contrary to the prevailing orthodoxy, that Europeans could acquire American land only through voluntary transactions with Native Americans. This is the story of the dramatic life, thought, and work of a man who refused to accept the conventional wisdom of his time and who forged a new way of thinking that came to characterize the best in the American tradition. Born and raised in England, Williams knew or otherwise personally encountered—during his youth or in later return visits—some of the greatest figures of English history: Sir Edward Coke, Sir Francis Bacon, King James I, the young man who became King Charles I, John Milton, Oliver Cromwell. In contrast to such famous contemporaries, Williams persistently argued, publicly and unambiguously, for complete liberty of conscience and a wall of separation between church and state—both for America and for Europe. At a time when most of the governments in Europe and America promulgated some form of established religion that persecuted religious dissenters, Williams founded a polity that was explicitly based on the principles and values of what became, more than 150 years later, the Establishment and Free Exercise Clauses of the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. The First American Founder traces, often in Roger Williams's own colorful words, the conflicts that Williams and his settlement experienced in maintaining a haven for persecuted religious minorities. Those challenges came both in the form of military and political imperialism from other colonies and from internal dissension. The book explains how Williams faced these issues and managed to create and preserve a political society whose principles we could recognize today. It also discusses how Williams influenced, directly and indirectly, the generation that later fought the Revolutionary War and established the Constitution and Bill of Rights. This work is written for both the general reader and the professional historian. The main text is readable by all. The endnotes and appendices contain scholarly documentation and discussion that will satisfy the most meticulous student of history.
