  • Obe

    Ian Moore

    (, Feb. 7, 2018)
Obe's eventful life began on a small farm with its quaint country style barn nestled under the canopy of two large Ghost Gum trees. It was within the barn's protective walls that Obe and his four siblings were born. His parents named him Shooshoo which in the language of cats, Bubastisism means 'Seeker of the Truth'. The Kitten's lives changed forever once their eyes opened and their parents were heartbroken as they witnessed their darling babies carted off to be sold at the local country fair. He was galvanized into action after being transported to live in a block of units in the city. His new human master compelled Obe to consider how he could better his position in their world. A steely resolve and acute observations of his master's habits assisted him to further his goal and those of his fellow felines. Obe's friend Munchey regaled him with stories of the cats' ancestry which he seriously doubted, but after confiding in his close neighbour Schmuggles, who told him of hi grandfather's wishes, set them on an adventure too help save all cats. Follow Obe's tales from birth to the present, as humans aren't the only ones with an interesting story to tell.

A Great Day at the Zoo was written with inspiration from my nephew who really likes animals. He often watches Animal Planet and other animal-related shows. He loves movies with talking animals. One of his favorites is Zookeeper. After seeing that movie, I had to take him to the zoo. I can only imagine that he felt like the main character Dennis in this book as he took the tour. I liked how his face lit up as he saw the animals. This book is part of a series of books starring Dennis. The first book is called Where is My Lucky Mitt. It only fits because my nephew loves baseball. Well, this book is the Dennis version of his trip to the zoo. I'm sure he saw over forty-five different animals. Take a look.
