A Great Day at the Zoo was written with inspiration from my nephew who really likes animals. He often watches Animal Planet and other animal-related shows. He loves movies with talking animals. One of his favorites is Zookeeper. After seeing that movie, I had to take him to the zoo. I can only imagine that he felt like the main character Dennis in this book as he took the tour.
