This cassette accompanies the book Words Alive! and demonstrates many ways to present the poems in the book. It is performed by the authors, Barry and Jill Wilsher, actors who have spent thirty years bringing poems to life for primary school audiences. The Wilshers' work has been proved time and time again to make children enthusiastic about poetry! Words Alive! is one of eleven books that make up Extended Reading Level A, for children in Year 5/Primary 6. This phase of Cambridge Reading aims to develop children's knowledge about language, its vocabulary, forms, structures and styles.
