It is a traditional sequel novel, feuilleton: the chapter finished at the most interesting place, so the reader would look forward to the next one. The novel is among the most screened literary works in the world and was screened numerously starting from the end of the 19th century. There are more than 20 American and French film and cartoon versions of this novel. The story about musketeers was also used in cinematograph in Australia, Brasilia, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Italy, the USSR, etc.
