  • Mismatched

    Annie Boone

    language (, Oct. 9, 2017)
Janie Peters is plain. Men don't notice her. Her prospects for finding a husband - at least a good one - are slim. She's young enough that possibly she'd be accepted as a mail order bride if she's willing to move.Answering forty year old Sheriff Jim Bryson's ad seemed like a long shot, but she decided to do it. The worse thing that could happen would be that she just never got a response. She was surprised and eager when she heard from him. After several letters, that she kept and cherished, he invited her to Mill Creek, Nebraska to be his bride. She was certain her dreams had come true. She had no idea that the man didn't actually want a young mail order bride. He couldn't even get her name right. She'd come this far, so she pulled out all her patience and perseverance and decided to do what she could to win his heart. She was young enough to be fearless in her pursuit. What she didn't expect was a sinister plot brewing in the town. Eventually, she'd get caught up in it while still pining after the man she'd come to love.Would the sheriff see the truth? Would he be willing to help her even though those close to him believed he should turn his back on her?
