She began to create stories to help the children use coping skills to give them comfort and hope. The Sometimes it Happens series was born. This first book in the series, Sometimes it Happens: You Have to Stay Home, focuses on the current (Covid-19) situation of children having to stay home, away from their daily routines; keeping them away from their friends, schools, teachers, and even other relatives. While Ms. Blake continued to educate from home, she listened to her student’s feelings and questions.
